Gritty display sees Spain overcome stubborn Morocco
Late goals from Fermin Lopez and Juanlu seal dramatic victory
Spain have booked their place in the final of the 2024 Men's Olympic Football Tournament after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Morocco in Marseille.
The North Africans had taken a shock lead early in the second half, but Fermin Lopez equalised for Spain just before the hour mark. Substitute Juanlu then netted a dramatic winner with just minutes remaining to send Spain through to the gold medal match.
Morocco will be left to rue a missed opportunity after they had led for much of the game. However, Spain showed great character to come from behind and secure their place in the final.
Spain will now face either Argentina or Japan in the final, which will be played at the Stade de France in Paris on Saturday.
